Changes to procedures for hygiene safety on our courses:

  • Our training room is large, well ventilated and has access to a large outside space, doors and windows will be open.
  • Learning will take place outside, depending on weather (all delegates will need to ensure they are wearing/bring warm clothing)

On Arrival:

Delegates will be asked to thoroughly sanitise their hands and advised that if they need to cough/sneeze, this should be done into a tissue that is disposed of immediately. Failing that they should cough/sneeze into a bent elbow and NEVER cough/sneeze without covering their mouth and nose.

Delegates will also be asked to regularly wash their hands with soap and water, and will be shown the following videos as part of the course orientation on how COVID-19 spreads and how to wash your hands properly:

Training Room Cleaning and Toilet Facilities:

Regular cleaning and disinfection routines will take place in all areas of the venue and deep cleaning will take place every 2-3 weeks.

Thorough cleaning and disinfection routines will be in place for all toilet areas throughout the day including doors. Toilets will be used on a one on one basis but will be shared with the other delegates and trainer. Soap and paper towels will be provided.

Although we always do our best to maintain bathroom hygiene, please bring any provisions you feel are necessary to use in a shared toilet space.

Refreshments:

Please bring a refreshement with you, we will provide afternoon tea and coffee. Delegates will also need to bring lunch.

Equipment:

We will use as many manikins as possible to minimise sharing and keep one manikin to the same small group of delegates all the way through the course, to prevent the possibility of course-wide infection spread.

Our trainers regularly change the training equipment in between our courses and all used equipment is fully sterilised in line with hospital sterilisation techniques. Resus Annie disposables, such as lungs, are thrown away in accordance with good hygiene in between courses and all equipment is fully cleaned with medically graded wipes between delegates on the course, as per the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines.

During the Course:

Prior to CPR practise, we will explain to the delegates how protection is in place to prevent infection during CPR practise. We will ask delegates to wash hands before and after each practical session delegates.

The skill of providing rescue breaths must still be included in CPR training and assessment. Delegates can also purchase a face shield for the purpose of performing CPR for a small fee.

Face Masks and Facial Coverings:

We do not provide Face Masks on our courses, but we do encourage our delegates to bring and wear their own which they would normally have for public places. The trainer will not be wearing a mask.

Illness:

Please do not attend training if you have the symptoms of COVID-19 and follow the PHE advice to self-isolate.

Should our trainer become unwell on the day, we may need to send a replacement trainer and we will text you on the morning of the course. The course will commence online in this circumstances or you will have the option to rebook another date.
