Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week with the Mental Health Foundation 18th-24th May 2020

Surrey First Aid Training Ltd - Specialists in First Aid Courses since 2000

As we know, the need for a physical first aider to attend to injuries and illnesses is common practice since the introduction of the Regulation (1981) and all workplaces regularly keep their training up-to-date, but clearly the need to provide the knowledge of prevention, recognition and treatment of this complex subject is in need of addressing within the workplace.

Mental Health England states working conditions and environment can have a huge impact on mental health and, equally, someone's mental health can have a significant impact to perform well in their job.

  • 1 in 6.8 people experience mental health problems in the workplace
  • Women in full-time employment are nearly twice as likely to have a common mental health problem as full-time employed men.
  • Evidence suggests that 12.7% of all sickness absence days in the UK can be attributed to mental health conditions
