Eggs is the most common allergen in children in the UK, and frighteningly it is in many products which are non-edible such as arts and crafts products. Crayola on their own website has a disclaimer statement saying it cannot guarantee that their products have not come into contact with allergens. It becomes the responsibility of the carer to ensure that the products they by are thoroughly risk assessed and do not pose a harm to the children they look after in their setting.
Our top tips:
???? Risk assess all your products - ask for manufactures ingredients lists.
???? If you cant get the information, choose a different product.
???? Ensure quality Care Plans are in place for children with allergies and Auto-Injector training is up-to-date.
