Schools get ready for a change in curriculum which will see teaching CPR as compulsory

Surrey First Aid Training Ltd - Specialists in First Aid Courses since 2000

After collecting the data we have found the following information on how schools will provide the CPR skill.

  • 65% schools have no knowledge of the change
  • Only 2 schools had the 'Call, Push, Rescue Kits' from the BHF, and both were using them
  • 98%  felt they would not have time to deliver the change within the actually classroom day and instead would need to find other ways in deliver the skill such as after school or a life skills day
  • 71% felt confident in finding a solution and would ask teachers to deliver the training
  • 93% thought the change was a good idea, some felt it wouldn't make enough difference and increase workloads of the teachers

Although we are still some way from the 2020 deadline Surrey First Aid Training will be offering a support service for the person in charge of implementing the skill. This will include any advice on the telephone and in the future a FREE resource pack to help schools to deliver the First Aid skills. We will also be offering the workshop to children in your school, if you would like to outsource the training. More information on our Save a Life Workshop is here

If you would like to be included in receiving our resource pack and further infomation on change please click here and provide your email address.
