16 Hour Outdoor First Aid for Forest School plus Paediatric First Aid course - 16th & 17th May 2022

Our two-day (16 hour) Forest School First Aid course is an outdoor first aid course designed for dealing with children from 1 year of age upwards and includes their potential illnesses and injuries of young children, as well as those of adult helpers. As Forest Schools become a fantastic and common way of delivering the EYFS framework, having children in an outdoor play and learning environment is not without risk. Most of these risks can be well managed by good risk assessment, but first aid plays an important part in giving staff confidence to take children outside.

  • Primary assessment in a Forest School
  • Resuscitation CPR outdoors
  • Choking management
  • Management of an unconscious casualty
  • Secondary assessment
  • Major trauma
  • Head, chest, and internal injury
  • Spinal recovery position, injuries from falls
  • Hypothermia, temperature related emergencies
  • Cold-related injuries
  • Management of fractures in the outdoors
  • Managing activities such as fire pits and burns
