Stress Awareness in Early Years Settings

An Introduction to Stress Awareness in the Early Years Workplace

We feel that the stresses faced by workers and the babies/children in the Early Years work space are quite different to any other work environment and have developed this Stress Awareness course accordingly.

The course is a stand-alone qualification. It is aimed at raising awareness of likely causes of work related stress, the range of symptoms and effects it can cause. This course particularly considers how to recognise stress within babies and children and why it is so important. It also considers options available that support the development of reducing stress for individuals – from babies and children to adults.

Objectives/ Topics
By the end of the programme the student will be able to:

+ Describe the Stress Response cycle.

+ Discuss why is it important to deal with stress in the Early Years work place.

+ List the typical stress factors in the Early Years work place.

+ Identify stress in colleagues, children and themselves.

+ Help Reduce stress in the Early Years work place.

The programme is designed to be delivered within 6 hours. We propose commencing at 9.15 am and completing by 4.15 pm with an hour break for lunch. We are happy to modify the times by arrangement. To find out more about this training
please contact us on 0845 833 1493 or email enquiries@surreyfirstaid.com
