Surrey First Aid Training has an excellent reputation as a provider of specialist training within the sports & leisure industry.

We offer a selection of courses designed to enable you to cope with any accident that may occur during an outdoor activity or in a mountain environment.

Our team of highly skilled first aid instructors has extensive knowledge of pre-hospital care and expedition medicine. These dedicated professionals are able to tailor the training to meet the individual's needs and give you the knowledge of safety and first aid you need to lead yourself or a group successfully on an outdoor environment or on a mountain expedition.

As well as the courses which we run at our Surrey venue, we also run the courses in association with Mountain Activities in Sussex.

Mountain and Outdoor First Aid Training: (2 day course)

The two day Mountain and Outdoor first aid course is designed to ensure that you have the skills and knowledge to administer first aid in any outdoor or mountain emergency which may occur in remote conditions, and meet the requirements of many lead bodies including the Mountain Leaders Training Executive and UK Mountain Training Board. This course is suitable for:

  • Mountain Leader Training England, Wales and Scotland (Summer & Winter), WGL, BELA, SPA, IML, MIA, MIC, British Mountaineering Council and BMC Guides
  • British Canoe Union & WCA
  • British Association of Ski and Snow Instructors
  • British Orienteering Federation
  • Scottish Mountain Bike Leaders Award
  • Duke of Edinburgh's Award
  • Basic Expedition Award
  • Orienteering
  • Scout and Guide Leaders

Successful completion results in the award of the Outdoor Emergency First Aid certificate and the Appointed Person (EFAW) certificate for provision of first aid in the workplace. Both certificates are valid for 3 years.

Mountain and Outdoor First Aid Training: (2 day course)

Cycle First Aid Training Courses: ( 1 and 2 day course)

These one and two day courses provide highly practical comprehensive first aid training for anyone heading out on a bike, either on road or off-road. There are two courses to choose from that would be your requirements.

Trailside Emergency Action (MTB) - 8 hour course

This mountain bike specific course covers the basic essential skills you need to deal with common trailside injuries and emergency situations. The course focuses on real trail scenarios, so come with your bike and riding kit. No previous First Aid knowledge is required.

                             

                                       

Emergency Incident Management (Road and MTB) - 16 hour course

This is an in depth course for road and mountain bikers giving you the training and practical knowledge required to deal with a whole range of incidents, injuries and emergencies. Over the two days you will work through all elements of accident procedure then apply it to a wide variety of scenarios both on and off road.

Course content:

  • All material covered in the 8 hour course                                   
  • Helmet removal
  • Casualty moving and handling
  • Treatment and stabilisation of the spine
  • Environmental control
  • Common medical conditions

This qualification covers the first aid training requirements of many national governing bodies Instructor award, including ML, SPA, BCU, RYA, BOF and SMBLA. Upon successful completion you will receive a certificate which is valid for 3 years.

We are able to deliver the course in-house on days and times which suit you including evenings and weekends. These Outdoor Emergency First Aid training courses can be arranged for a maximum of 16 people.

The course involves a number of practical workshops and outdoor exercises. These outdoor emergency scenarios help prepare the individual for every possible situation. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear when you attend the mountain first aid course and the trail courses.
